Ricardo Martínez
Ricardo Martínez Rico is founding partner of Equipo Economico (2006) and Chairman Executive since 2008. He was Head of the Spanish Economic and Trade Office in Washington, D.C. and was directly involved in trade negotiations, analysis of the US economy and assisting Spanish companies in their access to the US market between 2005 and 2006, especially through investments. After having successfully performed the public functions associated with various relevant positions in the Ministry of Economy and Finance, he was appointed Secretary of State for Budget and Expenditure at the beginning of 2003. He has also been Spain’s representative on the European Budget Council and the European Regional Policy Council. He is a Commercial Technician and State Economist (on voluntary leave of absence) and holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Zaragoza.
