Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility

The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility was born in Valladolid on 15 November 1968. He holds a degree in Law from the University of Valladolid (Uva) and a master’s degree in Political Management from the Jaime Vera Foundation. He has been a practising lawyer since 1995 until he took office as Mayor of Valladolid in June 2015. Responsibility that he has exercised until May 2023. Since July 2023 he has been a National Deputy.  

As mayor, Óscar Puente has been president of the Spanish Network of Healthy Cities of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) between November 2015 and December 2019; he has been part of the FEMP Board as a member between September 2019 and May 2023, and has been the FEMP representative in the network of urban initiatives from October 2020 to May 2023. He has also been first vice-president of the OICI (Organización Iberoamericana de Cooperación Intermunicipal).
