José Manuel Campa
Former Secretary of State for Economy
He holds a degree in Law and Economics from the University of Oviedo and a PhD from Harvard University.
He was Secretary of State for Economy at the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Finance from May 14, 2009, to December 23, 2011.
Until the date of his appointment as secretary of state, he was professor of finance and director of research at the IESE Business School of the University of Navarra, a position he left temporarily. He has been a consultant to the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, the European Commission and the Research Service of the Bank of Spain.
He has also taught at Harvard University, Columbia University, the Stern School of Business, and the Complutense University of Madrid. He has been a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and Research Fellow at the Center for Economic Policy Research. He has also served as a business expert witness for the Spanish judiciary, the Spanish Court of Arbitration, and the International Courts of Arbitration in Paris, Geneva, New York and Holland.
