Àngel Font
Àngel Font Vidal holds a PhD in Economics (Ramon Llull University of Barcelona) and a degree in Chemistry (University of Barcelona). He also holds a diploma in Business Management from EADA-Business School.
He began his professional career in environmental engineering, although he soon joined Intermón Oxfam where he held various management positions, first coordinating the programmes in Latin America and later as Deputy to the General Director, from where he acted as coordinator of integration within Oxfam and was responsible for strategic planning. Later, he joined Caixa Catalunya to direct the Un Sol Món Foundation, where he promoted microfinance, labour insertion and social housing programmes.
He was vice-president of the European Microfinance Network representing Caixa Catalunya. In 2010, he joined the “la Caixa” Foundation, combining strategic development support functions with the position of manager of the ISGlobal Global Health Institute. In 2012 he was appointed Director of People and Strategy and is currently Corporate Director driving the new CaixaResearch Institute.
In May 2020 he assumed the Presidency of the European Foundation Centre (currently Philea) on behalf of the “la Caixa” Foundation.
