He joined Criteria in 2009 as CEO, a position he held until 2011. At Criteria, he served on the boards of Abertis, Grupo financiero Inbursa, Vidacaixa, SegurCaixa Adeslas, Port Aventura and Saba. In 2011, following the reorganisation of the la Caixa-CaixaBank group, he became Chief Financial Officer of CaixaBank, with responsibility for financial and accounting management, the equity portfolio and mergers and acquisitions. In 2014, he was appointed CEO of CaixaBank and is also a member of the board of BPI.
