Vice-Secretary General of\u00a0Nuevas\u00a0Generaciones\u00a0del Partido Popular, he obtained his first public office when he was elected deputy in the fourth legislature of the Assembly of Madrid as part of the Partido Popular (PP) candidacy in the 1995 regional elections. During the 5th legislature, between 2000 and 2003, he was the spokesman of his parliamentary group in the regional parliament.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In 2003 he became a senator appointed by the Assembly of Madrid, a post he left to join the regional administration presided over by Esperanza Aguirre as deputy minister of the Presidency. In 2004 he moved to the Madrid City Council when Alberto Ruiz-Gallard\u00f3n\u00a0appointed him CEO of the Area of Economy and Citizen Participation. Elected councillor of the Madrid City Council in the 2007 municipal elections, he served as a delegate of the Government Area of Economy, Employment and Citizen Participation between 2007 and 2011. He was re-elected councilman in the 2011 municipal elections.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">On December 30, 2011, Mayor Ana\u00a0Botella\u00a0appointed him Deputy Mayor of Madrid and spokesman of the Government of the city after the resignation of Manuel Cobo. He kept the competencies in tourism that he had as a councillor.
