President and CEO of MELI\u00c1 Hotels International<\/h3>

Gabriel Escarrer Jaume graduated in 1993 from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in Finance and Business Management. He later worked at the investment bank Salomon Smith Barney in New York, where he took part in the initial public offering of Meli\u00e1 Hotels International in 1996. He subsequently joined the family business while\u00a0completing\u00a0a\u00a0postgraduate\u00a0program\u00a0at ESADE. In 1999, he\u00a0was\u00a0appointed\u00a0Chief\u00a0Executive\u00a0Officer,\u00a0leading\u00a0the\u00a0company\u2019s\u00a0expansion\u00a0and\u00a0technological\u00a0modernization\u00a0and\u00a0driving\u00a0its\u00a0growth\u00a0both\u00a0in\u00a0Spain\u00a0and\u00a0internationally.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

During\u00a0his\u00a0tenure,\u00a0Escarrer\u00a0Jaume\u00a0implemented\u00a0a hotel\u00a0asset\u00a0refurbishment\u00a0plan and\u00a0strengthened\u00a0Meli\u00e1\u2019s\u00a0position in\u00a0the\u00a0global\u00a0tourism\u00a0sector.\u00a0With\u00a0a\u00a0solid\u00a0financial\u00a0background\u00a0and a\u00a0strong\u00a0focus\u00a0on\u00a0innovation\u00a0and\u00a0customer\u00a0experience, he\u00a0successfully\u00a0navigated\u00a0the\u00a0international\u00a0financial\u00a0crisis,\u00a0consolidating\u00a0the\u00a0company\u2019s\u00a0organizational\u00a0and\u00a0financial\u00a0structure. In 2016, he\u00a0assumed\u00a0the\u00a0executive\u00a0powers\u00a0of\u00a0his\u00a0father, Gabriel\u00a0Escarrer\u00a0Juli\u00e1,\u00a0while\u00a0retaining\u00a0his\u00a0roles as Vice\u00a0Chairman\u00a0and\u00a0Chief\u00a0Executive\u00a0Officer,\u00a0leading\u00a0the\u00a0group\u00a0through\u00a0a\u00a0period\u00a0of\u00a0renewal\u00a0and\u00a0expansion.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
