16/01/2019 Nadia Calviño, finance and business minister, has lead the IX Edition lunch of the Spain Investors Day (SID). SID is a forum where the main Spanish business listed on the stock exchange meets the biggest international investors. The minister has assured that Spanish economy is solidly growing, with a 2.6% projection in 2018, based on the first three months of the year data, while, for 2019, is projected a 2.2% PIB rise.
The minister has insisted that the Spanish economy is not only progressing, it has developed strongly, especially when comparing to their European brothers. Calviño has pointed that, “after five years without any growth or negative growth, Spanish economy has got out of the crisis with strength”.
Taking advantage of the strong investor’s presence at the lunch, the minister has insisted on the vital importance for the economy, to reduce the debt ratio-PIB. Likewise, Calviño has commented that a forum like the SID, with a noticeable international influence, is “the best opportunity to boast about the solid numbers” of Spain.
Related to the budgets, the minister of economy has added that “there is no finance sustainability with out social sustainability” before explaining how the budgets are attacking issues so crucial like child´s poverty or, for example, the scholarship rise.
