Ricardo de Querol Alcaraz (Madrid, 1968) has been working as a journalist since 1988. He has served as editor-in-chief of Cinco Días and of Tribuna de Salamanca, and is currently deputy editor of El País. He holds a degree in Information Sciences and began his career at Ya, later working for a decade at Diario 16, where he was Economy Editor and Managing Editor. At El País he has been Head of the Society desk, Babelia, and the digital desk, as well as a columnist. At Cinco Días he launched El País Retina, specializing in digital transformation. He is also a professor at the El País–UAM School of Journalism.
