Prior to join BlackRock Luis was CEO of BBVA Asset Management Europe for 11 years.
Luis left BBVA for a short period of two years to join Goldman Sachs International in its London Securities Division in July 2010 as Head of PIPG Iberia.
Prior to his role at Goldman Sachs, Luis served at BBVA AM as Head of Sales and Marketing for Iberia, from 2007 to 2010.
Prior to joining BBVA AM, Luis worked at Deutsche Asset Management – DWS Investments, where he developed several roles, from 2001 to 2007, such as Head of Fixed Income Portfolio Management, Head of Product Management for Iberia and Latam & Head of DB Distribution Channels. He was also member
of the company’s Board of Directors at DWS Investments Spain SGIIC.

Luis started his professional career as a Fixed Income fund manager at Citibank Asset Management Spain in 1997 after a short initial period at the Spanish Central Bank (Statistics Department).
Luis holds a Degree in Economics, plus several postgraduate courses such as a Major in Business Management by CUBS London, a Masters AMSEC by Lausanne University, a Master’s Degree in Portfolio Management by IOF Madrid and a PDD at IESE in Madrid.
