Francisco Javier Sánchez Segura
Francisco Javier Sánchez Segura has been appointed Airbus Spain President for the Group, effective 1 October 2024, in addition to his current role as Chief Operating Officer of Airbus Defence and Space since January 2024. He has been a member of the Division’s Executive Committee since 1 July 2021, when he was appointed Executive Vice President, Head of Engineering. He also assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer between June 2022 and January 2023, and continued in this position from July 2023.
Before taking up this role, he was Senior Vice President of Military Aircraft Engineering and Head of the Design Organisation at Airbus Defence and Space.
He joined Airbus in 2002, where he has built his professional career, holding numerous management and executive positions related to Engineering and Programme Management within the Airbus Commercial Aircraft division in Toulouse, Hamburg and Madrid.
Francisco Sánchez Segura joined the Airbus Defence and Space division in 2014 as Vice President, Head of Manufacturing Engineering and Industrial Innovation, based in Seville, a role he held until 2017, when he became Vice President, Head of A400M Programme Development. In this position, he was responsible for delivering the current and future capabilities of the most modern military transport aircraft.
Sánchez Segura holds a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Saint Louis University, Missouri, USA, and a Master’s in Aerospace Vehicle Design from Cranfield University, UK.
