Managing Director of CECA

Antonio Romero Mora is Chief Executive Officer of CECA, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of FUNCAS, Vice Chair of the European Savings and Retail Banking Group (ESBG), and a Member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Coordination Committee of the World Savings and Retail Banking Institute (WSBI).

He holds degrees in Law and in Economics and Business Administration from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas of Madrid (ICADE E-3), as well as a degree in Political Science and Sociology from UNED. Since 1999, he has been a member of the Senior Corps of Civil Administrators of the State.

In 2000, he joined the Directorate-General of the Treasury and Financial Policy, where he held various positions, ultimately serving as Deputy Assistant Director-General for Legislation and Financial Policy.

In 2004, he joined CECA as Director of Regulatory Management. In 2011, he was appointed Corporate Director of Associative Services and Resources, a role in which he has held, at different times, responsibilities in the areas of regulation and studies; regulatory compliance; communication, external relations and sustainability; talent management, culture and general services; information technology; internal audit and internal control; internal consulting and quality; and reporting services, among others.

He is a Professor of Legal History at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas and a regular speaker at numerous academic forums, as well as the author of articles and contributions in leading publications in the financial sector.
