Rodrigo Orihuela
Bureau Chief of Bloomberg News in Spain, a position he has held since 2020 after more than fifteen years with the organisation. Specialising in economic, business and energy news, he has developed his career in different international markets, covering companies, telecommunications, technology and the main energy sectors in Latin America and Europe.
He began his career at Bloomberg in 2009 in Buenos Aires as a commodities and energy reporter, before moving to Rio de Janeiro to cover Brazil’s oil and electricity industries. Later, in Madrid, he broadened his focus to include business, telecommunications and technology, establishing himself as an authoritative source of information in these areas.
Before joining Bloomberg, he worked as an editor at Perfil.com in Buenos Aires, contributed to The Guardian on Latin American politics and sports, and worked as a journalist for the Buenos Aires Herald. He also worked at the Financial Times in London on the content syndication team and at Standard & Poor’s as a translator and editor.
With solid international experience in newsrooms, his career combines economic analysis, corporate information and coverage of strategic sectors, providing a broad and rigorous view of the global business and energy landscape.
